FINANCE ACCOUNTANT - LADYBRAND

Description

Main purpose: To identify and investigate controls and business risks in cooperation with management and implement affirmative procedures. Responsible for handling Tax and IFRS inquiries and their implementation, and for supporting accurate financial reporting across the business and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Identify problem areas, recommend corrective procedures, and implement systems and controls to address issues.


• Compile value-added reports to support operations and management decision-making.


• Manage daily financial activities and control management, ensuring reconciliations and accuracy of financial records.


• Handle Tax and IFRS inquiries, ensure appropriate application of standards and oversee implementation of changes.


• Prepare annual financial statements for subsidiaries and assist with group reporting requirements.


• Undertake ad hoc tasks and projects as required by management.

Qualifications

• B.Com or equivalent with articles completed and a minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience.


• Previous experience as an accountant within the agricultural environment is recommended.

Skills

• Sound communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English.


• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.


• Good numerical ability and accounting insight.


• Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax legislation.


• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management and stakeholders.
