Roles and Responsibilities

1.    Ensure Procedural Area Readiness 

   a. Adhere to Procedural Areas Readiness in terms of common administrative and operational areas e.g. Ensure Procedure area space is clean, overall décor, brochures, materials and posters are updated, administrative equipment, lights, air-con and telephone are functional in clinic public spaces are down

2.    Assist with smooth patient journey including registration, discharge, appointment bookings, cashiering and enquiries. E.g. Ensure accurate and timely registration at the counter

3.    Ensure patient’s Insurance providers are maintained and bills are accurate. 

4.    Follow-up with pre/post scope/operation administrative duties. E.g. Ensure patient receives accurate and timely pre/post-procedure information E.g. book/reschedule procedures and appointments, follow-up on no-show according to doctor’s instructions and TCU information are provided accurately.

5.    Attend to appointment requests, emails and phone enquiries.

6.    To provide financial counselling to patient on the fees for consult, investigations, procedures and medication where applicable. 

7.    Participate in quality improvement project and assume other responsibilities tasked by the clinic/nurse manager, service team leader and/or service executives.

8.    Supervise and mentor junior and new staff. Help guide junior and new staff in their daily duties and mentor new staff when assigned by Clinic Manager.

9.    Manage counter/room activities to ensure staff achieve desired service standards.

10.    Assist with smooth patient with regards to their surgical procedure such as their scheduled surgery date and time, screening questions (clinical) and medical 

    a.  Ensure that the Operating Theatre and Endoscopy Centre Lists are arranged accordingly and efficiently

    b.  Ensure that the daily scheduling of the various procedures is done in a timely and organized manner

    c.  Provide adequate information to patient with regards to their scheduled operation

    d.  Able to provide Bowel Preparation instructions for Direct Access Patients    

11.    Attend to surgical/endoscopy requests, emails and phone enquiries.
