We are seeking an experienced Project / Process Engineer to act as the technical representative throughout the full project lifecycle. The role involves supporting FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, and Startup phases, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution in line with company standards and project economics.
Design & Engineering
Lead technology selection, design basis development, and process design activities.
Review and approve contractor deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, heat & material balances, and equipment selection.
Ensure integration of Advanced Process Control (APC) systems for process optimization.
Lead process control philosophy, interlocks, shutdown logic, DCS and alarm design.
Participate in HAZOPs, MOC reviews, alarm objective analysis, and HSE evaluations.
Review and approve operating procedures and training related to startup, shutdown, and emergency operations.
Coordinate project economic studies and provide technical input to optimization initiatives.
Construction Support
Act as a technical resource to the construction team on plant design and philosophy.
Oversee revamps, catalyst changes, and modifications to ensure compliance with process design.
Support PSSR activities and final acceptance of facilities.
Startup & Commissioning
Ensure safe startup in line with company procedures and safety standards.
Support commissioning, debugging, and performance testing.
Validate nameplate capacity and design limits for commercial operation.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards.
Promote safety-in-design and environmental compliance throughout the project.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, policies, and procedures.
Prepare accurate technical and project reports as required.
Support Qatarization initiatives through mentoring and knowledge transfer (for expatriates).
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical / Civil) – Required
Master’s Degree in Engineering – Preferred
Experience
5–7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry – Required
Experience in Petrochemicals – Preferred
Languages
English – Proficient
Arabic – Working knowledge (preferred)
