A leading international mining house is seeking an experienced Plant Engineering Maintenance to join its operations in the Northern Cape.
This role is ideal for a results-driven engineering professional with strong experience in maintenance planning, team leadership, and operational performance within a mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Engineering Operations
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans
Oversee maintenance planning and shutdown coordination
Ensure optimal equipment performance through asset optimisation strategies
Drive maintenance throughput and operational efficiency
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Maintain compliance with codes of practice and mining legislation
Administer required systems and governance processes
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and manage maintenance teams and contractors
Ensure team members are trained, competent, and performance-driven
Foster a high-performance and safety-focused culture
Financial & Operational Management
Manage cost control, budgeting, and resource allocation
Monitor and improve maintenance performance metrics
Deliver results through effective planning and execution
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
Relevant Engineering Degree / Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical)
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) – Mines & Works
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in mining (Concentrator Plants)
Proven track record in maintenance and service delivery
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams
Skills & Competencies
Strong maintenance planning and asset management expertise
Knowledge of mining legislation and compliance frameworks
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement ability
Results-driven with a focus on operational excellence
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
Valid Code B Driver’s License
Medically fit and able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
