Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials as assigned by the teacher. This includes preparing theroom for the activity, obtaining the required material and equipment, operation of the equipment and the return ofall materials and equipment to storage.
Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
Conduct and provide demonstration to teach such skills as sports, dance, song, games, storytelling and handicrafts.
Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as emergencydrills, assemblies, cafeteria, restrooms, field trips, hallways, playground and bus loading activities.
Assure the health and safety of students during movement from one center to another by following established practices and procedures and maintain the learning environment in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
Observe and control behavior of students in the classroom according to approved procedures, monitor students during outdoor activities as directed, become familiar with student IEP goals and report progress regarding studentperformance and behavior.

Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of classroom activities, such as preparing, typing, copying and filing instructional materials. Grade student tests and assignments, recording of grades and attendance, reports andmaintaining student records and files as assigned.
Completes student progress reports including behavior report accurately and regularly and submits them to the Coordinator/Line Manager.
Maintains accurate, complete records as required by Ministry law (ADEK/MOE), school policies and procedures.
Informs parent regarding student progress, the instructional program and other school issues.
Complies with Ministry Law (ADEK/MOE), school policies and procedures.
Conducts student and parent orientation session in the class during the first month of school.
Communicates regularly/monthlywith students that are experiencing academic difficulty, non-compliant students, or by request of the student/parent.
Collects, assesses and provides timely feedback for assignments.
Participate in professional growth activities.
Participate in in-house training programs.
Prepares for and participates in annual performance evaluation and appraisals for staff.
Participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students’ progress or problems.
Contributes to information and knowledge sharing among peers.
Keeps up to date with latest instructional and professional techniques to enhance education.
Maintain portfolio recording his/her learning experiences and effectively uses them in their work.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Ability to work effectively with school staff, students, parents and members of the community.
Follow the communicated policies and procedures of the school.
Be familiar with emergency procedures.

Assume responsibilities outside the classroom (e.g. child safety and discipline in the corridor/play area etc.)

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of, and ability to, perform duties in full compliance as per school requirement and MOE/ADEK regulations, policies, procedures and activities relevant to the duties of this position.
