Data Advisory & Data Migration Consultant

Description:

Location – Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata

Experience level – 5-10 years

Key Responsibilities:

Data Advisory:

• Define data strategy aligned to utility operations (Meter-to-Cash, Asset Management, Customer Service, etc.)


• Conduct data maturity assessments and gap analysis across systems (e.g., CIS, ERP, OMS)


• Advice on data governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance (FERC, NERC,  etc.)


• Guide data monetization and analytics roadmap


• As-Is Integration pattern study 


• Coordinate with application owners to assess the impact and align on the To-Be strategy

Data Migration:

• Lead or support end-to-end data migration lifecycle – from extraction to validation and cutover


• Collaborate with business and technical teams to map and transform data from legacy systems (e.g., mainframe, Oracle, SAP IS-U)


• Support mock conversions, dress rehearsals, and post-go-live stabilization


• Help in training material development and coordinate trainings to business and IT users

Required Skills:

• Utilities industry domain knowledge – familiarity with business processes like billing, outage, meter data, AMI, work management


• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP IS-U, Oracle Utilities, or similar platforms


• Good understanding of MDG, MDM, or data lakes for utilities


• Experience with regulatory data retention and audit requirements


• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities


• Attention to detail with a data-first mindset


• Ability to translate business needs into data requirements


• Agile methodology experience is a plus
