Position Summary: The Production Manager - Precast is responsible for overseeing the production process of precast concrete products at our Phoenix, AZ facility. This role involves managing the production team, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production targets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in precast concrete manufacturing, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the precast production process to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing of products.
Team Management: Supervise, train, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
Quality Control: Ensure all products meet the company's quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resource utilization.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure uninterrupted production.
Health and Safety: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the production budget, controlling costs and optimizing spending.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as efficiency, quality, and downtime.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or management training preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in precast concrete production, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient in production planning and scheduling.
Knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Eworks.
Expertise in blueprint reading, concrete forming and finishing, heavy equipment operation, rebar placement, and time management.
Certifications: Forklift, Overhead Crane, Skid Steer, and Chain and Sling Inspection certifications are highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
May require standing for long periods and lifting/moving materials up to 50 pounds.
