Group Financial Manager (IFRS / Tax / Governance / Mining Sector) – North West

Job Description:

Our client, a leading organisation in the mining sector, is seeking an experienced Group Financial Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the full financial governance framework across a complex multi‑entity group. This role requires a highly analytical and ethically driven finance professional with extensive knowledge of IFRS, VAT, Income Tax legislation, and mining‑specific regulatory frameworks.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of influencing at executive level, while ensuring financial integrity across all business units. The role requires deep experience navigating sophisticated group structures and ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee consolidated group financial statements in full compliance with IFRS / GAAP.
• Ensure strong financial control frameworks and internal governance across the group.
• Maintain and update policies aligned to IFRS, VAT, income tax, and mining‑specific regulatory frameworks.
• Support capital investment decisions, feasibility studies, and allocation strategies.
• Engage external stakeholders and strategic partners to strengthen the organisation’s financial position.
• Lead, mentor and develop finance team members across the group.
• Drive implementation, optimisation and maintenance of ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Pastel, SAP, Caseware).
• Oversee accounts payable, procurement finance, reconciliations and payroll controls.

Qualification and Skill:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (NQF 7).
• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years’ progressive finance experience within the mining sector, including at least 4 years at a senior leadership level in a multi‑entity or group environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
