Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Underground Operators and Supervisors for potential international employment opportunities within Australia's underground mining sector. We are inviting Expressions of Interest from mining professionals with underground production, development, ventilation, strata control, or emergency response experience who may be interested in future opportunities across major coal mining operations.

This Expression of Interest is intended to establish a talent pool for upcoming vacancies and project-based assignments across Queensland and other mining regions. Successful candidates may be considered for employer-sponsored opportunities subject to operational requirements, workforce planning, and immigration eligibility criteria.

The role involves supporting specialised underground mining projects, emergency response activities, ventilation control systems, strata remediation works, and general underground mining operations while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct underground mining operations in accordance with site safety procedures
• Support strata control, remediation, sealing, and ventilation projects
• Operate underground mining equipment and specialized project equipment
• Monitor and maintain safe working conditions underground
• Assist with emergency response and mine recovery activities where required
• Complete inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments
• Supervise crews and coordinate project activities where applicable
• Maintain compliance with statutory mining regulations and site procedures

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum 3–5 years' underground coal mining experience
• Previous experience as an Underground Operator, Deputy, Supervisor, or similar role
• Valid mining competency certificates relevant to underground operations
• Current Driver's License
• Experience in strata control, ventilation, remediation, or emergency response projects advantageous
• Strong understanding of underground mining safety systems and procedures
• Ability to work rotating rosters and travel between mine sites
• Demonstrated leadership capability for supervisory applicants

• Valid passport
• Updated CV/resume

• Mining qualifications and competency certificates
• English language test results (IELTS/PTE where required)
• Police clearance certificates and medical examinations as required
