Process Engineer

Role Overview

The Process Engineer must have a strong background in Process Engineering in a petrochemical industry.  Instrumental in designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing industrial processes.  Critical in contributing to the development of new and innovative process technologies for implementation. Participate in continuous improvements of current process technological systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial process from inception through to start up and certification. 
• Development of conceptual and detailed designs and feasibility studies. 
• Troubleshooting of significant process issues as required 
• Analyse existing processes and make recommendations for improvement as required. 
• Assess processes, take measurements, interpret data, and present it clearly. 
• Conduct statistical analysis and design of experiments to determine the critical processing parameters. 
• Develop best practices, routine, and innovative solutions to improve systems while maintaining quality.  
• Perform process simulations.
• Conduct Risk Assessments and develop safety procedures 
• Manage time and cost constraints within basic project management framework.   
• Provide clear process documentation and operating instructions.  
• Review all designs for compliance with Process/operational constraints in collaboration.  

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Chemical & Process Engineering  
• 5-10 Years of relevant industry experience 
• Demonstrated ability to develop equipment/fixtures from concept to production.   
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service delivery. 
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. 
• Familiar with and understand Lean Six Sigma principles and able to apply it to daily operations.  
• Must be proficient or familiar with various software, such as CAD software: ASPEN HYSYS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. and Business software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) 
• Must Possess ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation including P&IDs, construction drawings, industry and site codes and standards, and manufacturing operating manuals.
