Mechanical Planner – Refinery Maintenance (Suriname)

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Planner to support refinery maintenance projects in Suriname. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of work while minimizing downtime and maximizing asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work packs and job plans for mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, valves, and vessels.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, inspection teams, and contractors.
• Review scope of work, drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate materials, tools, manpower, and contractor support to ensure timely execution.
• Ensure compliance with refinery HSE standards, permit-to-work systems, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Monitor work progress, update schedules, resolve field planning issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum MBO/MTS qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in refinery maintenance planning within process plants.
• Proficiency in planning and scheduling software and CMMS.
• Strong knowledge of refinery mechanical equipment and OSHA/HSE regulations.
• Excellent planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Location

This position is based in Suriname for a 2-year project assignment.. Successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Suriname for the duration of the assignment. Relocation assistance, travel arrangements, and accommodation will be provided in accordance with company policy.
