Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer – Refinery Maintenance (Suriname)

We're seeking an experienced Lead Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support refinery maintenance operations in Suriname. The successful candidate will lead the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering team, ensuring the reliability, performance, and integrity of critical electrical, control, and instrumentation systems while driving continuous improvement and providing technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering team.
• Manage the reliability, maintenance, and performance of electrical and instrumentation assets.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Develop maintenance strategies, technical specifications, and engineering solutions.
• Oversee condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and asset integrity programs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Projects to optimize plant performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years' experience in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering within the oil & gas, refinery, or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, instrumentation, control systems, reliability engineering, and CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, or similar).
• Experience with industry standards, hazardous area installations, and functional safety systems.
• Professional certifications in HV/LV systems, hazardous areas, or reliability engineering (e.g., CompEx, CMRP, BEPECT) are an asset.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team development skills.

Location

This position is based in Suriname. Successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Suriname for the duration of the assignment. Relocation assistance, travel arrangements, and accommodation will be provided in accordance with company policy.
