A prominent organization in the industrial minerals sector is seeking an Application Support Manager to lead technical sales support and customer application initiatives. The role is based in the Bangkok area and covers Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, and additional territories as required.
The Application Support Manager will provide expert technical sales support for a diverse customer base, ensuring product suitability and application success across multiple markets. The position involves commercial and technical customer management, process optimization, and competitor analysis to maximize business performance in the region.
Develop, maintain, and grow business with existing and prospective customers to achieve targets set with sales leadership.
Deliver high-level application support for all customer projects and products, facilitating pre-sales and post-sales service.
Conduct laboratory and process trials with customers to demonstrate product suitability versus competing solutions.
Coordinate closely with production and quality control teams to allocate suitable materials according to customer demands and address claims efficiently.
Monitor and implement innovations in products and application concepts, in collaboration with global technical teams.
Actively participate in cross-functional marketing teams to drive sector-specific plans and strategies.
Build and maintain comprehensive databases of customer requirements and applications; identify and mobilize resources to resolve customer issues.
Engage with relevant industry associations and technical support groups; report market trends and competitor activities.
Support development and launch of new products or applications; collaborate on lab and pilot tests with internal stakeholders.
Organize and execute promotional activities, including exhibitions, seminars, training, and published articles or media materials.
Drive and measure improvements in customer satisfaction, product promotion, market share, business volumes, and problem resolution.
University degree in engineering or scientific disciplines preferred; experience in technical sales support within the chemicals, minerals, or related sectors is desirable.
Typically 12-13 years of experience in technical and after-sales support.
Strong technical and commercial background: pre/post-sales application support, CRM, proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Demonstrated relationship-building skills and ability to engage at all organizational levels.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, planning, and organizational skills; customer focused and able to work independently.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; fluent in English and local languages.
Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.
