Role Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists in eye exams and medical testing
• Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures including:
  • Visual field testing
  • Tonometry
  • Fundus photography
• Educate patients on post-operative care, contact lens care, and general eye health
• Accurately document patient histories, symptoms, and exam results in the EMR system
• Support a smooth clinic flow and collaborate closely with the entire eye care team

What We’re Looking For

• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COA) or willingness to obtain certification
• Proficient in the use of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
• Solid knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and eye conditions
• Detail-oriented, with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills with patients and clinical team

Preferred Experience

• Background in an ophthalmology or optometry practice
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Able to perform refractions and acuity testing
• Experience assisting with minor in-office surgical procedures
