JOB DESCRIPTION

• Title: Junior Tax Accountant
• Location: Douala, Cameroon
• Contract Type: Fixed-term contract (renewable)
• Salary: 150,000 – 200,000 FCFA (depending on profile)

Mission
The Junior Tax Accountant is a key member of the finance team, primarily responsible for the company's day-to-day tax and accounting operations. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, he/she ensures compliance with tax and social declarations, maintains general accounting, and contributes to the reliability of financial data.

This position is designed for a motivated, rigorous candidate seeking long-term growth within the company.

Main Activities

• Prepare and file periodic tax declarations: VAT, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and payroll taxes, in compliance with legal deadlines.
• Manage CNPS (social security) declarations and payments.
• Maintain general and analytical accounting in accordance with SYSCOHADA standards (recording of purchases, sales, bank, cash).
• Participate in monthly and annual closings and assist the supervisor in producing financial statements.
• Update and organize the company's tax and financial database.
• Monitor basic tax updates and report any relevant changes to management.
• Collaborate with other departments to collect information required for declarations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal accounting and tax procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Candidate Profile
Education:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree (BAC+3) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or Business Law with an accounting focus.
• A Master's degree (BAC+5) is an advantage but not required.

Experience:

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (accounting firm or corporate accounting department).

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of Cameroonian tax law and SYSCOHADA standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (such as Sage, Odoo, or equivalent) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
