Support Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Site IT Deployment & Support Engineer to join our project teams on a secondment basis. The role is responsible for coordinating and executing IT infrastructure deployment, providing on-site technical support, and ensuring smooth IT operations across construction and project sites. The ideal candidate will act as the primary IT point of contact at the sites, bridging technical execution with project coordination and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site IT Deployment & Coordination
   • Coordinate IT planning, equipment procurement, delivery, and rollout across multiple project sites.
   • Align IT deployment activities with overall construction schedules and site readiness milestones.
   • Work closely with project teams to ensure timely site preparation for IT infrastructure.
2. Installation, Commissioning & On-Site Support
   • Support end-to-end equipment delivery, physical installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of IT systems (hardware, networks, peripherals, and related systems).
   • Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support to resolve issues promptly.
   • Facilitate system acceptance testing and handover to operations teams.
3. First-Line Operations & Incident Handling
   • Serve as the primary on-site and hotline contact for all site IT-related issues.
   • Perform incident logging, triage, initial diagnosis, and resolution or escalation following defined processes.
   • Ensure minimal disruption to site operations through timely support.
4. Stakeholder Coordination & Compliance Support
   • Liaise effectively with project managers, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
   • Support 4S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize) labelling, site inspections, audits, and compliance tracking.
   • Ensure adherence to company IT policies, safety standards, and project requirements.
5. Asset Management & Project Closure
   • Track IT asset movement, maintain accurate inventory records, and monitor equipment usage.
   • Support equipment recovery, reconciliation, and demobilization activities at project closure.
   • Update asset databases and generate reports as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).

Experience:

• Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in IT support, field services, or infrastructure deployment.
• Proven hands-on experience in site-based IT rollouts, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or large-scale project environments.
• Experience managing IT assets and supporting multi-site operations.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IT hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (PCs, servers, networking devices, printers, etc.).
• Basic networking skills (LAN setup, IP configuration, WiFi, switches).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools for incident management (ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for reporting and asset tracking.

Certifications (Preferred):

• CompTIA A+ and Network+ or equivalent.
• ITIL Foundation.
• Any relevant project coordination or field service certification.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to work on-site at construction locations and travel between multiple sites.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a project site environment (PPE usage required).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good command of English (spoken and written); [Local language] is an advantage.
