Bio Medical Engineer

Location: Kandla, India 
Department/Section: Procurement 
Title: Bio Medical Engineer, Procurement

REPORTS TO 
Global Procurement Director and Kandla Operations Manager 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. Technical comparison of quotations from different vendors including preparation of tender compliance sheets 
2. Based on input from vendors to assess and prepare spare part lists for our customers. 
3. In collaboration with vendors prepare assembling and user manuals. 
4. Preparation of offers for After Sales Service agreements to our costumers 
5. Preparation of Product catalogues 
6. In coordination with the Quality department to inspect orders for release (India only). Product release of transit orders based on pictures and documentation. 
7. Assist the Category manager with sourcing of new vendors in India mainly. 
8. Categorization and creation of item numbers in the ERP system 
9. Product training of Procurement and Sales colleagues
10. Support the implementation, maintenance & improvement of the Quality Management System for Medical Devices. 
11. Active part in assessment and approval of products (AVL). 
12. Active part in developing new suppliers enabling compliance to present ISO, CE and MP requirements. 
13. Responsible for reviewing, analysing complaint data, performing root-cause-investigations to establish corrective & 
preventive action plans.
14. Developing and performing test methods for product testing and investigations, writing and updating procedures as 
required to ensure the quality, safety aspects in compliance to regulations. 
15. Any other duties or assignments as requested by the manager 

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES 
Education: 
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biomedical) or equivalent. 
Work experience: 
3-4 years of hands-on experience in Medical Devices in a multispecialty 
hospital or devices supplier/manufacturer. 
Good knowledge of national and international quality management 

systems. Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills

Competences: 

1. Extensive knowledge of Bio Medical & Hospital Equipment’s Knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance, installation,commissioning and effective trouble shooting of equipment’s.
2. Should be good in both written and oral communications including diplomatic discussion of required corrective actions with business partners 
3. Commercial mindset and outgoing attitude 
4. Understand and be oriented towards the ERP system as a tool and use it efficiently within own area of work 
5. Active and proactive in everyday issues as a solution provider with a techno commercial mind set. 
6. Should be a team player and a team builder to ensure an efficient process and communication respecting core values 
7. Well structured, detail oriented, strong coordinator with decision-making capabilities, organizational and time management skills.
