Job Description
Sr. Product Support Engineer Join a global leader in industrial automation and electrical interconnection technology, known for pioneering innovation solutions in control systems, connectively, and power distribution. This is a multi-national family owned company headquartered out of Germany. They operate in 80 countries with approximately 8,600 employees globally, with reported revenues of $1.43B USD. This role sits in the U.S. Headquarters office/plant, (in Germantown, Wisconsin) as part of this global organization operating in 80 countries worldwide. The Sr. Product Support Engineer will promote the successful application of Automation and Interface products to employees, distributors, and customers by providing high-quality technical support and training.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide telephone and email service/support employees, distributors, and customers, offering technical instruction automation and interface products • Record customer service on support details in customer database communicating with sales associates of service/support activities. • Produce product support materials (e.g. application notes, how-to guides, example programs, tutorial videos, etc.) and Demos (trade show panels, programs, etc.) as needed to illustrate the functionality of Automation and Interface products • Participate in training targeted at improving the knowledge and support capabilities of employees, distributors, and customers • Occasional travel (10%) for technical support, and assistance at trade shows. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel by automobile or airplane
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications: • Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited university, or equivalent • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in technical product support, especially in applications of industrial control systems, PLC programming, and industrial control design is preferred • Experience in service and support of field equipment within a factory environment • A demonstrated ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently and possess strong organizational, communication (both oral and written), and interpersonal skills • Nice to Have skills: working knoledge of CODESYS IEC 61131, PLC Programming, Linux, I/O Interfacing, HMI, Communication Protocols (MODBUS, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS/PROFINET, CANopen, DeviceNet, OPC UA, BACnet, IO-Link), IoT, EDGE Devices, Node-RED, and/or Java Script
