Cost Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles (GAAP), proven experience with general ledger accounting, and a track record of supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. This position plays a key role in preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in month-end close processes to support sound business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post accurate journal entries in compliance with GAAP
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Maintain and support general ledger activity, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Collaborate with internal accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and internal management reports
• Help identify process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and MS Excel
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
