Job Description: Senior Export Executive – Freight Forwarding

Job Summary

The Senior Export Executive is responsible for managing export shipments from booking to final delivery, ensuring smooth operational execution, compliance with international trade regulations, and excellent customer service. The role requires extensive knowledge of freight forwarding procedures, export documentation, and coordination with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and customs authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end export shipments by air, sea (FCL/LCL), and land.
• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines, airlines, and transport providers.
• Prepare, review, and process all export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other required documents.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely customs clearance.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates to customers and overseas agents.
• Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and operational issues promptly.
• Communicate with overseas partners to ensure smooth shipment handling at destination.
• Verify freight charges, carrier invoices, and operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, international trade regulations, and Incoterms.
• Support the sales team by preparing freight quotations and providing operational advice when required.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update the freight forwarding system.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and international agents.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior export staff.
• Contribute to improving operational processes and service quality.
• Achieve departmental KPIs related to shipment accuracy, service quality, and on-time execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in export freight forwarding operations.
• Strong knowledge of air freight, ocean freight (FCL/LCL), and export procedures.
• Excellent understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and international shipping documentation.
• Experience using freight forwarding and logistics management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously and work under pressure.
