Optometrist Responsibilities:

1. Conduct eye exams using optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
2. Diagnose and treat ocular disease, and prescribe medication as needed
3. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
4. Provide advice, answer questions, and recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
5. Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding vision and challenges with prescription for eyewear or corrective lenses.
6. Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
7. Referring patients to ophthalmologists or other medical specialists as necessary
8. Providing ongoing maintenance care before and after cataract or refractive surgery
9. Monitoring of glaucoma, macular degeneration or other systemic issues in conjunction with medical physicians
