• Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.

Job Type: Optometrist

Practice Location: Reno/Carson City, NV

MD Or Corporate Owned: Private Equity

Reason for Job Opening: Market growth and FTE reduction of current OD.

Experience Requirement: If new grad, must be residency trained.  

Target Compensation: $225 - $250k  

Bonus Opportunity: NPC + Individual productivity bonus (additional documents provided)

Other Benefits: 1099 Employee

Target Start Date: ASAP

OD – patient per day expectation: 28 - 35 

Other Selling Points:

• Ideal candidate is residency trained in Ocular disease, desire to work in a medical setting, heavily involved in co-management with the other physicians.  Sierra Nevada is a very family feel group, Dr. Wolff started the practice in 1998, his wife is the practice administrator, and they have a long-standing reputation in the community.  
• Nevada has uniquely adopted a state law for OD’s; Nevada optometry law mandates clinical and financial independence.  Od’s must maintain full autonomy over their clinical and operational decisions when working in facilities owned by non-optometrists.  It’s an outdated law but regardless, here to stay.  The goal was to preserve ‘clinical authority’ and fair referral patterns.  So, if you are an OD in Nevada and work in a multi-specialty practice, you are employed as a 1099.  If you are an OD and work in an OD ONLY clinic, you can be a W2.
