Job Title: Retina Specialist, Medical and Surgical Retina.
Practice Type: Private practice, physician owned. NO Interest in PE - Practice was opened in 1979 and has been devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. Reason for Opening: Growth in Orlando market.
Number of Openings: 1 open position. Start ASAP.
Facility Size: 6 total locations, 3 locations in metro Orlando area. Will rotate between those locations.
Is Position Inpatient, Outpatient, or a Mix? Private practice only, may do surgical cases at hospital. Will have access to surgery center. Will also have option to buy into surgery center in the future.
Board Certified/Board Eligible: Retina
Current Number of Physicians? 5 Other Support Staff? COO, Clinical Supervisor, Marketing Director, Drug Management Specialist, scribes, etc.
Resources Available? Group chats among docs on cases, society memberships, referral networks.
Equipment Available? Optos, Heidelberg, personal indirect, state of art laser; Surgery center equipped with state of art retina equipment.
Inpatient EMR System: NextGen
Outpatient EMR System: NextGen
Weekday Call? Yes, Shared evenly among partners and associates - 1 out of every 6 weeks.
Schedule: 5 day work week, 4 day work week rotating; Will work only in Orlando market; One surgery day a week.
Patient Volume Per Week: 50-60 patients
Teaching Opportunities? If desired, at UCF Medical School.
Research Opportunities? We have research within the group, would welcome them taking lead and growing if have active interest.
Committee Opportunities? We involve associates in all practice changes to gather input.
Is there any facility rotation in this position? Orlando downtown and Hunter’s Creek (Kissimmee) location mainly.
How far is the distance between locations? 25 minute drive.
If the facility is a clinic, how far is it from the hospital? No hospital clinic. Advent and Orlando Health are the main hospitals. They do require no more than 2 weeks a year of call. Part of the requirement they impose. We share the stipend with the associate.
COMPENSATION
What is a ballpark number for base compensation? $400K
Do you provide a Productivity or Quality Bonus? Productivity bonus, 3X, 4X and 5x of collections less drug revenue income.
Sign On Bonus? Negotiable

Do you offer any other bonuses? They keep on call income generated from Advent Hospital call. It $14K for each week, up to 2 weeks a year. They can keep the income or they can choose to trade away to other doctors in area that are willing to take. If Private Practice, is there Partnership Potential? Partnership track. Compensation structure is base of $400K with bonus tier with Non-equity partner at 30 months and Full equity partner at 4 years (No payment or income reduction at that time).
