Backend Team Lead

We're working with a fast-growing fintech building financial infrastructure for populations the traditional banking system has overlooked. Their platform serves tens of thousands of customers monthly across multiple currencies and hard-to-reach markets, processing over $1B in transactions yearly.

They're hiring a Backend Team Lead to own one of their core engineering teams, working across product, finance, marketing, CS and ops. You'll mentor your team, make technical calls and build on infrastructure handling millions of transactions. Scale, accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable and you'll be expected to own them.

Requirements:

• A team-first leader who gets things done without the ego and makes people around them better.
• Proven people management and strong interpersonal skills in a fast-moving agile environment.
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent. This is a firm requirement.
• 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years managing a team.
• Strong Java background with deep experience in large-scale backend systems, microservices, cloud environments and performance optimisation.
• MySQL and AWS experience is a strong advantage.
