FINANACIAL/ BUDGETORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Oversight and approving responsibilities for the Company’s Asset Under Management (AUM).
• Responsible for the generation of the Company’s Board approved total budget revenues.
• Oversight and approving responsibilities of the Company’s operating expense budget.

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for the broad management and administration/supervision of the Company including developing operation strategies, annual budgets, structures and policies, monitoring and supervising clients’ investments and staff performance, ensuring implementation of approved investment recommendations by the investment management team on a risk-return basis to attain portfolio optimization for clients and profitability of the company.

To work closely with the Board to ensure good corporate governance as well as all regulatory and other stakeholders’ compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the day-to-day coordination, administration and supervision of the Company’s operations, staff and assets by ensuring that all activities are conducted according to industry rules and standards, and company policies and rules.
• Coordinate marketing/business development activities. This would involve regular visits to corporate and individual clients to generate business to increase Assets Under Management (AUM) and income.
• Grant approval for all investment decisions in accordance with Regulatory investment guidelines, the company’s investment policy and the Investment Committee recommendations.
• Ensure the company remains profitable and grows in AUM and market share.
• Ensure staff receive appropriate training to function effectively in the discharge of duties.
• Any other duties that may be required by the Board.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

• Achieve approved semi-annual and annual AUM targets.
• Achieve approved semi-annual and annual revenue and profit targets.
• Work within approved expenditure targets with the required cost/income ratios.
• Achieve customer acquisition and retention targets to grow the Company’s client base.
• Achieve set staff training target.
• Clients’ relationship management: daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.
• Achieve the required frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) of published research reports and at industry standards.
• Ensure retention of core staff.
• Ensure adequate brand visibility and maintenance in the industry.

WORK CONDITION & REQUIREMENTS:

• Involves frequent nationwide travel and scheduling meetings with clients, sometimes at challenging times and locations.

COMMUNICATION / CONTACT:

• Internal - Company’s Board, People and Culture, Internal Auditor, MIS, Legal. Compliance, Shared Service, Treasury and Finance.
• External – SEC, NPRA, FIC, Data Protection, External Auditor.

QUALIFICATION (professional, technical and academic):

• Minimum of 1st Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management and other related academic field with 12 years relevant industry experience or MBA/MSc. Finance, Accounting, Management or Economics with 10 years’ industry experience.
• Must be a holder of Securities and Exchange Commission, Ghana (SEC) Investment Representative License as an Investment Advisor (a requirement by SEC to become a CEO of any SEC Licensed Market Operator).
• Strong analytical, writing and research skills.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage complexity.
• Strong presentation skills with a high level of influence.
• A very good task-oriented person.
• Must have strong marketing, business development and networking skills.
• Considerable knowledge and understanding of the investment management industry, management of collective investment schemes and applicable industry laws and regulations.
• Ability to relate to people at all levels.
• IT literate with a considerable experience in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
