Job Description:

A multi-national, multi-cultural organization providing state-of-the-art ICT and telecommunications solutions primarily to government, regulatory agencies is looking for a Country Manager to join their team in Uganda. The nature of the job may require occasional travelling to client sites or relocation to a specific site/country. They are seeking a highly motivated Country Manager to oversee and coordinate all activities related to a project or business operation on their site.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all project activities on the site, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and achievement of project KPIs.
• Act as the main point of contact for all stakeholders, including high-level Government personnel, to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
• Manage and motivate the project team to ensure they deliver on project requirements and work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Proactively identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Continuously analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement measures to drive better outcomes.
• Produce periodic contractual outputs (reports) addressed to the clients.
• Establish direct relationships with DGs and Ministers.
• Identify gaps/delays in contract delivery.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. (MBA or similar degrees preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years working experience in management or leadership position.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Results-oriented, with a focus on driving performance and achieving project goals.
• Extensive experience in managing teams.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
• Proficiency in project management.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Advanced organizational and coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Fluent in English (mandatory).
• Fluent in French (advantage).
• PMP or PRINCE II certification (advantage).
• A proven work experience in Data Analysis, IT, Systems Administration or similar roles (advantage).
