Shared Services Supervisor – Finance (EPCM / Reporting / Accounts /Engineering/ Compliance / Mining) – Cape Town

Job Description:

Due to their organizational growth, our client is seeking a skilled Shared Services Supervisor: Finance to oversee the daily operations of the finance shared services team within an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) business. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial operations, compliance with financial regulations and efficient supplier management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager to address outstanding supplier issues and drive financial process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and treasury operations within the shared services function.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and collections while maintaining compliance with financial policies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to financial deadlines.
• Maintain financial controls and compliance with GAAP, IFRS and tax regulations.
• Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with procurement, project management and external auditors to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Supervise, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
• Monitor key financial metrics, resolve discrepancies and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with tax laws, company policies and internal financial controls.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in finance shared services, preferably in an EPCM or project-based environment.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Similar) and finance automation tools.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions, tax regulations, and intercompany accounting.
• Knowledge of engineering/ construction project accounting principles is an asset.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Cape Town based.
