Regional Business Service Partner (Mining / Operations / Business Improvement) – Johannesburg

Job Description:

One of our longstanding clients is currently in search for a Regional Business Service Partner to join their team.

The individual will serve as the regional coordination and escalation point for Global Business Services in Africa, ensuring global standards, governance and compliance are upheld while enabling effective, timely and trusted business services support to African operations. The role evaluates regional service demand and recommends optimal service placement, delivery model and governance approach to balance local complexity with efficiency, scalability and enterprise consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the single in-time-zone escalation and coordination point between African operations and Global Business Services.
• Coordinate resolution of service issues across GBS, Enterprise functions and sites to meet agreed service levels.
• Enable adherence to global business process standards, controls and governance requirements.
• Assess regional service demand and develop fact-based recommendations on optimal service placement.
• Conduct an as-is review of processes, regulatory requirements, and complexity drivers across African operations (including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Payroll & Master Data to inform service placement decisions.
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder and engagement map, and regional issues register to support coordination and escalation.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with site, regional and enterprise stakeholders.
• Support business services aspects of portfolio changes and asset transitions in Africa.
• Represent the Africa region in the Business Services and Compliance network forums, providing visibility of regional service performance, escalations and issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.  
• Demonstrate behaviours that are aligned with the companies Values and Code of Conduct at all times.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Strong business acumen – balances compliance, efficiency, and customer value
• Analytical, structured, data-driven decision maker
• Influences stakeholders effectively without direct authority
• Strong shared services (GBS) and governance expertise
• Multi-country experience with cross-cultural awareness (Africa focus)
• ERP exposure with proven change and resistance management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Global Business Services/Shared Services professional certifications desirable
• Travel to sites as required
