Job Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced security professional to lead the strategic direction, operational performance, and technological advancement of a large-scale security control room environment in Gauteng.

The successful candidate will drive command centre excellence, optimise security technologies, strengthen governance, and enhance incident detection and response capabilities across the operation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all control room operations, incident management, and response coordination.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, escalation protocols, and governance standards.
• Oversee CCTV, access control, alarm, surveillance, and other integrated security systems.
• Improve detection accuracy, reduce false alarms, and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Drive the implementation and optimisation of security technologies, AI, automation, and advanced monitoring solutions.
• Ensure security systems are reliable, integrated, and aligned with operational risk requirements.
• Manage security technology projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee contractors, technology vendors, and service providers to ensure performance and accountability.
• Strengthen compliance with security legislation, industry standards, and organisational policies.
• Develop reporting, analytics, and performance dashboards to support executive decision-making.
• Embed strong risk management, audit, and integrity controls across control room operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational and technical teams.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Security Management, Risk Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in security operations, control room management, and integrated security technology within mining environments.
• Proven experience leading large-scale operational improvement and security technology transformation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, surveillance systems, AI-enabled security solutions, and integrated security platforms.
• Experience managing security technology projects, contractors, and technology vendors.
• Sound understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, and security legislation.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Professional certifications such as ASIS CPP/PSP, PMP, PRINCE2, or ISO-related certifications will be advantageous.
• Grade A PSIRA registration or the ability to obtain this within 3 months.
• Medically fit for the operational environment, with a clear criminal record and valid driver’s license.
• This role is only open to South African residents currently residing in South Africa.
