Job Description:

Our client, an established manufacturing business supplying the mining and industrial markets, has an opportunity for a seasoned Plant Manager in Gauteng. Reporting into executive leadership, you will take full ownership of the site and everything it delivers, from safety and environmental performance to production scheduling, logistics and product quality, while steadily lifting the plant's operational and cost performance year on year.

Responsibilities:

• Run the full production operation end to end, partnering daily with the maintenance, quality, engineering and supply chain teams to keep the plant performing.
• Make safety, health and environment the top priority, ensuring the site meets all legal requirements, company standards and quality certifications, and embedding a safety-first culture on the floor.
• Keep output high and product quality consistent, protecting both throughput and reliability.
• Champion Lean and continuous improvement on the production lines, and build the case for capital projects that lift efficiency and yield.
• Build a capable, engaged site team through hands-on coaching, training and performance management.
• Own the plant budget and cost base, track performance through clear KPIs, and report results to leadership.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• BEng or MSc in Industrial, Mechanical or Process Engineering, or Materials Science. Industrial engineers are preferred.
• At least 10 years' practical experience in a manufacturing, industrial or mining setting, including solid time running plant operations.
• Broad operational understanding across safety, production, quality, process engineering and capital expenditure.
• A strong, results-focused leader who makes sound decisions, solves problems well, keeps the customer in mind and constantly looks for better ways of working.
• Sharp analytical and numerical ability, with strong budgeting and production scheduling skills.
