Mining Production Manager (Contract Mining / Open Pit / Gold) West Africa

Job Description:

Our client, a leading international engineering and contract mining group, is seeking an experienced Mining Production Manager for its open pit gold mining operations in Côte d'Ivoire. The Mining Production Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing all mining production activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of the mine plan and achievement of production targets. The incumbent will lead the mining production teams, coordinate resources and equipment, monitor operational performance, and ensure effective execution of drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, dumping, and related mining activities. The role will focus on maximizing productivity, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, environmental compliance, and cost control.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Higher Education in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mining production, preferably in open pit mining environments;
• Proven experience in managing mining production operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, dumping, and pit development activities;
• Strong knowledge of open-pit mining methods, production planning, mine sequencing, fleet management, and operational optimization;
• Experience in managing production teams, contractors, and operational service providers;
• Ability to monitor and optimize key production performance indicators, including production volumes, productivity, equipment utilization, cycle times, fuel consumption, and production costs;
• Strong understanding of mine plans, production schedules, equipment requirements, and operational constraints;
• Experience working closely with Mine Planning, Geology, Grade Control, Maintenance, SHEQ, Supply Chain, and other support functions;
• Ability to identify operational bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and mining production management/reporting systems;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills;
• Fluency in English (mandatory) and French (preferred);
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead large multicultural operational teams;
• High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail;
• Proactive mindset with strong initiative and continuous improvement orientation;
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental, and operational excellence standards;
• Experience working in multicultural and remote mining environments is an advantage;
• Experience in contract mining operations and client-facing environments is an advantage.

• Employment Contract with the company for 6 months period (renewable according to employee’s performance and according to Ivory Coast Labor Law);
