The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will grow the UK Life Sciences and Hi Tech business by winning new clients, expanding strategic accounts and leading complex opportunities from initial engagement through to contract signature (HUNTER - win sales) . You will develop outcome-focused propositions across digital transformation, data and AI, cloud, engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise applications and managed services.
Your responsibilities
· Identify and qualify new opportunities across UK Life Sciences and Hi Tech.
· Build a strong pipeline and deliver agreed revenue and margin targets.
· Create account plans for priority prospects and clients.
· Lead the full sales cycle, including proposals, negotiation and closure.
· Build trusted relationships with senior business, technology and procurement stakeholders.
· Translate client priorities into measurable business value.
· Grow existing accounts through relevant cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
· Coordinate tailored responses to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs.
· Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline reports.
· Represent the company at relevant industry and partner events.
Your Profile
Essential skills, knowledge and experience
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
· At least eight years’ experience in business development, sales or account management.
· Strong record of winning and growing large UK enterprise accounts.
· Experience selling consulting, technology transformation or managed services.
· Good knowledge of Life Sciences and/or Hi Tech markets.
· Evidence of delivering annual revenue targets of £5 million–£10 million or more.
· Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
· Confidence engaging senior executives and presenting complex propositions clearly.
· Ability to manage multiple opportunities and provide accurate forecasts.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience
· MBA or relevant advanced qualification.
· Experience in a large consulting or technology services firm.
· Established network in UK Life Sciences or Hi Tech.
· Knowledge of major cloud, enterprise application or CRM ecosystems.
· Awareness of relevant UK and European industry regulations.
