About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Business Head – China, Transportation Business Unit (TBU) to lead our automotive engineering business across China. This is a senior techno-commercial leadership role responsible for driving business growth, customer engagement, delivery excellence, operational governance, and full P&L ownership.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive electronics, software-led engineering services, and embedded systems, with a proven track record of building strategic customer relationships, scaling regional operations, and delivering sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the China TBU P&L, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Develop and execute the regional business strategy to expand market presence across China.
• Build and strengthen executive relationships with Chinese OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, technology partners, and key ecosystem stakeholders.
• Identify, qualify, and convert strategic business opportunities in domains including:
• Software Defined Vehicle (SDV)
• E/E Architecture
• ADAS
• Connected Vehicle
• Digital Cockpit
• Electrification
• Embedded Software
• Vehicle Validation & Verification
• Lead customer engagements from opportunity identification through commercial closure and long-term account expansion.
• Drive delivery governance by collaborating with global engineering teams to ensure quality, timely execution, and customer satisfaction.
• Act as the primary interface between customer leadership and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Finance, Legal, HR, and Delivery.
• Establish localized delivery models aligned with customer expectations and China-specific business requirements.

• Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic recommendations to strengthen business positioning within the Chinese automotive ecosystem.
• Lead executive-level customer reviews, resolve critical escalations, and ensure successful long-term partnerships.
• Build and mentor high-performing regional teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in Automotive Engineering, ER&D, Embedded Systems, or Software-led Product Engineering.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role such as Business Head, Regional Business Leader, Delivery Head, Strategic Account Leader, or Operations Leader.
• Demonstrated ownership of P&L management, revenue growth, commercial negotiations, and business profitability.
• Strong understanding of automotive technologies including:
• Software Defined Vehicle (SDV)
• ADAS
• Connected Vehicles
• E/E Architecture
• Digital Cockpit
• Electrification
• Embedded Software
• Vehicle Validation
• Strong techno-commercial acumen with the ability to engage senior stakeholders including CTOs, Engineering Heads, Purchasing, Program Management, and Executive Leadership.
• Proven success in scaling strategic customer accounts and converting opportunities into long-term engineering engagements.
• Experience managing global delivery teams and cross-border engineering operations.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the Chinese automotive market and local business ecosystem.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred.

• Experience working with global engineering services organizations supporting automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
• Established network within the China automotive and mobility ecosystem.
• Experience leading large-scale engineering delivery programs across multiple geographies.
• Ability to navigate complex customer organizations and influence executive-level decision making.
