Role Overview:
A well-established family office is seeking a highly discreet and capable Governance Officer to institutionalize and manage governance practices across its family trusts and councils. This role requires strong legal and compliance knowledge, coordination capabilities, and a deep understanding of multi-generational family business dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance Facilitation & Oversight
Coordinate meetings of the Family Council, Business Council, Board of Trustees, and related committees.
Draft and manage governance documentation – agendas, resolutions, minutes, and action trackers.
Support the implementation and periodic updates of the Family Constitution, trust deeds, and governance frameworks.
Maintain a centralized and secure repository of all governance and legal records.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure timely compliance with relevant Indian laws and regulatory frameworks.
Liaise with legal, audit, and tax advisors for filings, registrations, and trust compliance.
Maintain secure and confidential communication and documentation practices.
Family Governance Implementation
Assist in the onboarding and engagement of next-generation family members into governance structures.
Support succession planning, ownership documentation, and intergenerational continuity frameworks.
Monitor governance compliance and flag potential deviations to the Board.
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
Act as the primary liaison for internal family members and external advisors.
Facilitate smooth and timely communication across governance stakeholders.
Support educational sessions and orientation on governance practices for family members.
Qualifications & Experience:
Preferred: Company Secretary (CS); Candidates with LLB or CA and strong governance experience may also apply.
Experience: 7–10 years in governance, family business advisory, legal, or compliance roles.
Familiarity with Indian trust law, company law, and succession structures.
Experience with family businesses or private offices is highly desirable.
