Safety Officer – Mining - Mpumalanga

Our client, a respected mining company in Mpumalanga, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional to play a pivotal role in promoting health and safety during mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain SHEQ risk management strategies across the site
• Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, ISO standards, procedures, and legislation
• Coordinate functional areas including Health, Hygiene, and Safety
• Support HSE activities 
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and participate in incident investigations
• Collaborate with management and project leads to address day-to-day safety concerns
• Analyse safety performance data and highlight risks in advance
• Recommend and monitor risk mitigation strategies
• Document hazards and controls in line with established protocols

Minimum Requirements: 

• HSE qualification NOSA/SAMTRAC / ISO 45001/9001/14001 internal auditing– essential
• National Diploma in Safety Management or currently working towards one
• 5+ years' experience in HSE roles within the mining, enviroment and/or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation
• Valid driver’s license – essential
