Financial Manager – Mining

The following opportunity exists for a seasoned & self-driven Finance Professional with a proven track record in the field.  Our client is an International Mining House where an opportunity exists for a dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic and results driven individual to join one of their mines based in Delmas. They are offering a rewarding and exciting opportunity within the Mining space for an experienced individual with a proven track record in the category of Financial Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will be accountable for the accounting operations of the Mine.

 Key Performance Areas

• Manage the financial planning, cost control and reporting services
• Day‑to‑day accounting processing and transactional finance
• Preparation of journals, reconciliations and month‑end close
• Debtors, creditors and cashbook management
• The preparation of management accounts and internal reporting
• Analyze applications received from departments for capital expenditure.
• Perform financial calculation of capital expenditure applications.
• Manage the capital expenditure process according to company policies and time frames.
• Compile monthly capital expenditure reports for internal and external role players.
• Execute capitalization of final fixed assets according company policies and procedures, within stipulated time frames.
• Manage training/coaching activities in the department.
• Set annual and monthly goals, objectives and targets with and for subordinates.
• Do regular performance/development reviews.
• Manage employee(s) within section
• Ensure compliance to established business and government regulations

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent (e.g., BCom Accounting, National Diploma in Accounting, or Financial Management)
• Honours Degree In Accounting, or CIMA / CFMA will be an advantage
• 7 – 8 years’ experience
• Experience in mining will be advantageous

• International Financial Reporting Standards and MS Office package.

• Will be according to qualifications and experience and will include competitive conditions of employment. Salary will be market related
