Sales Financial Controller – Mining

A leading international mining house with operations across underground and open-pit mines and smelters (producing zinc, lead, silver, copper, iron ore, steel, aluminium, and power) is seeking a Sales Financial Controller to join their high-performance team in the Northern Cape.

Role Purpose

To partner with Sales & Marketing teams by providing financial oversight, driving pricing discipline, margin optimisation, and commercial insights, and ensuring strong governance across sales and revenue processes.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

• Partner with Sales & Marketing teams to drive financial performance and governance
• Provide insights on pricing strategies, margins, and profitability
• Support commercial decision-making through financial analysis

Revenue & Pricing Analysis

• Analyse sales pricing, contracts, and realisations against benchmarks (LME, premia, FX, TC/RC)
• Monitor customer profitability, margins, and revenue trends
• Identify variances and improvement opportunities

Reporting & Forecasting

• Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards, and performance insights
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Deliver accurate and timely commercial reporting

Working Capital & Risk Management

• Monitor receivables, credit exposure, and working capital
• Ensure alignment with commercial terms and risk frameworks

Process Optimisation & Systems

• Drive automation, standardisation, and digitalisation of reporting processes
• Enhance reporting capabilities using SAP, Power BI, and data analytics tools

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks
• Support internal and external audit processes

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting / Finance
• CA (SA), CMA, or equivalent qualification

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years’ relevant experience
• Strong background in financial modelling, reporting, and commercial finance
• Experience in mining, metals, commodities, or manufacturing (advantageous)
• Exposure to pricing, contracts, and marketing finance

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP
• Strong experience with Power BI and data analytics tools
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
