Financial Reporting Specialist (CA(SA)) – Mining - Zambia

Introduction

An exceptional career opportunity exists with a leading international mining house for an experienced and detail-driven Financial Reporting Specialist. This role is ideally suited to a CA(SA) with expert knowledge of US IFRS and US GAAP, and a proven track record in financial reporting within a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with US IFRS and US GAAP standards.
• Lead and coordinate external audit processes, ensuring compliance and timely completion.
• Support group consolidation and board reporting, including submissions via HFM.
• Oversee complex accounting areas including:
  • Share-based payments
  • Hedging instruments
  • Borrowing costs
  • Decommissioning and restoration provisions
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and mining regulatory frameworks.
• Assist with impairment modelling, financial analysis, and asset valuations.
• Collaborate with corporate finance, treasury, and operational teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and internal controls.
• Lead and support ad hoc financial and strategic projects.

Minimum Requirements

• CA(SA) – essential
• 5–8 years post-articles experience in financial reporting or group consolidation
• Expert knowledge of US IFRS and US GAAP
• Experience with financial statements, consolidations, and reporting cycles
• Exposure to corporate finance (modelling, forecasting, valuations)
• Systems experience: SAP, Sage, CaseWare, HFM (advantageous)
• Mining / heavy industry experience (highly advantageous)
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and internal controls
