Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Networking the Network Engineer will be a member of the team that manages the customers of HCL Technology France, Global Share Services (GSS). You will design, build and provide operational support customers HCL GSS . Responsibilities • Develops and implements network designs that have high availability and scalability consistent with company needs by assisting technical experts and senior network engineers in setting technical direction; • Maintains and improves network stability by upgrading existing network infrastructure • Provides support for network infrastructure problems by monitoring the team's support queue; troubleshooting and diagnosing problems; identifying the root causes of problems; ensuring corrective action is taken following problem identification; developing plans of action to address network performance problems; aiding team members in the resolution of problems; and holding suppliers accountable for delivering corrective actions. • Oversees enhancements and changes to the network environment by involving senior team members and suppliers in enhancement opportunities; observing network performance trends and utilization; developing plans of action to address network performance trends; reviewing plans and proposed network changes; and serving on the area change council. • Provides project management for small to large projects by completing project documentation in accordance with program management office guidelines; assigning tasks to project participants; owning tasks or groups of tasks; determining and gathering business and technical requirements; representing projects to the area project council; participating in the budgeting process; leading the team to accomplish tasks; ensuring projects are completed within budget; and removing obstacles and barriers for team members. • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. • Strong experience in build and supporting multi–Data center network infrastructure • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation with team • Participate in war rooms for critical site issues • Collaborate cross functional teams of Network and Security Architects, Server and Platform Engineers, and Data Center Operations • Create the SOP’s for day-to-day repeatable work Minimum Qualifications • Routing & Switching architecture, design of large-scale networks • Experience of installation, configuration & troubleshooting of Routers, Switches and Firewalls from different OEMs (Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet). • Experience of upgrade Routers, Switches and Firewalls from different OEMs (Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet). • Highly proficient and have extensive experience with IPSEC, IGP, MPLS, BGP, IPVPN, and TPC/IP technologies • Extensive experience with Cisco IOS-XR, IOS-XE, NX-OS administration • In-depth knowledge of BGP, Segment Routing, ISIS ,Cisco IOS, MPLS and OSPF and Nexus Environment • Design, plan, configure, test, and implement service provider edge network • Coordinate with service providers for requesting and implementing MPLS services • Experience with implementation and troubleshooting of DWDM optical networks • Maintain the security of our global network infrastructure and compliance with all applicable security standards (PCI, PII, HIPPA etc.) • In depth knowledge of layer 4 – 7 troubleshooting (from a networking perspective…i.e. when an app can’t connect) • Bachelor of Science and 2 years network engineering experience OR Master of Science and 1 years network engineering experience OR 4 years network engineering experience • Ability to multi-task projects, strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, written and communication skills • Ability to diagnose complex network problems and find the root cause • French (read, write, talk) – B2-C1 level • English (read, write, talk) – B2 level Technologies : • Cisco Catalyst & Nexus (NX-OS , ACI) • Fortinet • Checkpoint • Ipam • F5 • … list non exhaustive Additional Qualifications • Cisco Certifications such as CCNP and CCIE or similar certifications in areas related to internetworking solutions also a plus • Cisco ACI • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Azure, GCP, Rackspace, Openstack, Datacenters, telecom circuits, or any other public or private cloud environment • Working knowledge of a scripting language like Python Seniority Level Mid level
