The Mechanical Planner provides support to the Maintenance and Reliability Departments for corrective maintenance repairs, predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and inactive service investigations and cutoffs. This role is seconded to a client’s site.

Conduct field walk-downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities and to provide input for refining and improving work package quality.

Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures including NSPs, NSWPs, and ASME Code

Manage special projects as assigned by Project Manager

Provide maintenance planning

Familiarity with plant rotating and static equipment is beneficial.

Review work requests and plan work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) system eg Maximo

Knowledge and ability to evaluate all work orders to be planned, understanding the need to get the correct resources, equipment, work instructions, and parts identified before scheduling work to maximize craftsmen’s productivity.

Review completed work order packets to identify follow-up work and improvement items to be included in model work orders, controlled documents, drawings, and equipment parts list, to facilitate continuous improvement in the work management process, and work planning through work execution.

Expand the use of model work orders to capture repetitive work so that the work can be optimized, and craftsmen productivity maximized.
