Role Overview
The Piping Designer will work with the engineering team to create and update piping drawings and 3D models for oil and gas projects. This role involves preparing P&IDs, layouts, and as-built drawings, making design changes when needed, and ensuring all documents are accurate and up to date. The designer will use software such as Plant 3D, PDMS, and CADWorx to support project needs and maintain project files. Strong teamwork, good communication skills, and the ability to work overtime when required are important for success in this position. This is a full-time hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
In close cooperation with the engineering team, the Piping Designer will produce detailed drawings, including as-builts, schematics and flow diagrams, P&IDs and piping drawings.
Drafting and 3-D modeling from rough design sketches and design standards.
Extracting drawings from 3-D models.
Make drawing and 3-D model changes, corrections, and modifications.
Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve them.
Use computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools to gather information, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches to present and design a proposal.
Provide support to a project in all aspects of piping design and layout.
Review of design and engineering data (drawings and other documents) to verify completeness and accuracy.
Maintain project files.
Piping system design.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with Plant 3-D, experience with PDMS, and CADWorx.
Certified CAD or piping design certifications are advantageous.
Experience in engineering design of onshore oil and gas facilities
Must have a proven ability to interact with staff at all levels.
Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on the project.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in multiple industries is a plus.
