Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

The senior level Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will support a mission-critical database in a 24x7 environment. This position will be responsible for maintaining SLA uptime, managing highly available databases and ensuring proper backup/recovery processes. Troubleshooting performance issues and executing production changes are critical components of this role.

• Extensive Experience in managing a large Oracle DB environment in Finacle Environment.
• Install, configure and support Oracle databases for Business Systems environments 
• Proactively monitor databases for optimal performance; monitor space and capacity, estimate sizing and growth requirements 
• Database performance tuning, review & tune complex SQL statements 
• Plan, coordinate, test and roll-out Oracle patches & upgrades
• Assist in Disaster Recovery documentation, planning, and testing
• Setup, configuration, and management of RMAN backups and restores. 
• Document and maintain database standards and operations procedures
• Evaluate new features and technologies, provide recommendations to improve existing environments
• Implement Best practices in DB Environment
• Create run-book procedure for repeatability
• Participate in planning and testing of disaster recovery process
• Work with developers reviewing database schema changes for upcoming

Projects/releases.

Mentor and do Knowledge Transfer to Team members to build in house skills.

Required Skills and Experience: 

• 10 Plus years working as an Oracle DBA preferably managing Finacle Database in Oracle
• Knowledge of AIX, Redhat Linux Environments from Admin perspective.(shell Scripting
• Skilled experience managing Oracle 12c/18c/19c single instance/RAC databases and clusters
• Strong RMAN backup and recovery skills
• Skilled in BCP DR in Finacle Environment.
• Experience with implementation/upgrades of Oracle DB
• Experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration
• Strong query tuning and performance problem solving skills
• Experience in installing, upgrading, and managing Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to mentor and build a DBA team for in house skills
