Job Description: National Sales & Marketing Head

Role Purpose
The National Sales & Marketing Head will lead and manage pan-India sales and marketing operations. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing national sales strategies, expanding market presence, managing key accounts, and building a performance-driven sales organization. The position plays a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and ensuring the profitable growth of its chemical product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive national sales and marketing strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Create annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans including revenue targets, territory distribution, pricing, and product mix.
- Formulate and update company policies related to sales & marketing (payment terms, credit policies, distribution norms, and incentives).
- Build long-term growth plans for new markets, product lines, and industry segments.
- Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a pan-India sales & marketing team, including regional managers, sales executives, distributors, and agents.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor the sales and marketing team; conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Ensure coordination between sales, marketing, production, supply chain, logistics, and finance.
- Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture within the team.
- Market Expansion & Business Development
- Identify new markets, customer segments, distribution channels, and business opportunities across India.
- Onboard new distributors/dealers and strengthen partnerships with existing ones.
- Manage key accounts, negotiate contracts, and build long-term strategic customer relationships.
- Expand presence in targeted industries and high-potential regions.
- Product Management, Pricing & Positioning
- Collaborate with production and technical teams to understand the product portfolio and align sales strategies accordingly.
- Define and manage pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and margin protection.
- Lead new product launches, promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and portfolio optimization.
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and competitor offerings.
- Revenue Generation, Forecasting & P&L Contribution
- Drive national revenue growth and ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Contribute to profit & loss performance by improving margins, optimizing channels, and reducing costs.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and demand plans; track KPIs and regional performance.
- Analyse sales trends, market data, and competitor activities to refine business strategies.
- Cross-functional Coordination & Compliance
- Work closely with production, supply chain, logistics, quality, and finance to ensure smooth order execution.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry compliance norms.
- Support internal processes related to audits, certifications, and product quality systems.
- Customer & Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients, distributors, dealers, and industrial customers.
- Personally handle negotiations and strategic deals with high-value clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely supply, service support, and effective communication.
- Drive retention, cross-selling, and long-term client engagement.
- Leadership & Business Growth Mindset
- Encourage innovation, continuous learning, and process improvement.
- Identify inefficiencies in sales, distribution, and logistics; implement optimization strategies.
- Promote digital tools such as CRM, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry (Preferred)
- MBA in Sales & Marketing from a recognized institute (strong advantage)
- 12–20 years of experience in chemical B2B or specialty chemicals, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of national-level revenue generation and team management
