Position Title: Jr. Engineer – Quality (MIG Welding)

Department: Quality

Location: Ahmedabad / Plant Location

Experience: 3-4 Years

Industry Preference: Automotive (Chassis / Axle / BIW / Welding)

Reporting To: Quality Engineer / Quality Manager

Role Objective

To support process quality control and Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) activities for MIG welding components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and defect-free dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Quality Control

- Perform in-process inspection of MIG welding operations.
- Monitor basic process parameters and welding quality.
- Identify defects and escalate issues.
- Support implementation of control plans.

2. PDI (Pre-Dispatch Inspection)

- Conduct final inspection before dispatch.
- Ensure parts meet drawing and quality requirements.
- Maintain inspection records.
- Ensure traceability of parts.

3. Defect Identification & Reporting

- Identify welding defects (porosity, undercut, spatter, lack of fusion).
- Segregate defective parts.
- Maintain rejection and rework data.

4. Documentation & Quality Systems

- Maintain inspection and PDI reports.
- Follow IATF / ISO procedures.
- Support audits.

5. Support in Problem Solving

- Assist in root cause analysis.
- Participate in 5 Why and quality tools.
- Support corrective actions.

6. Coordination

- Coordinate with production teams.
- Communicate quality issues.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering
