Content Specialist

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the research, writing, and editing of content across various platforms, including websites, blogs, email campaigns, and social media.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with marketing strategy, tone, and brand guidelines.
• Optimize content for SEO best practices and ensure it reaches targeted audiences.
• Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and clarity.
• Help maintain and update website content, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all materials.
• Assist in tracking content performance through analytics and report on metrics such as engagement and traffic.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and competitors' content strategies.
• Championing editorial standards; providing practical recommendations to topic experts and content contributors.

COMPETENCIES

• Content Creation - Ability to create engaging, clear, and accurate content across multiple platforms such as blogs, social media, websites, and emails. The Content Specialist should be able to write in various formats while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• SEO Knowledge - Understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) basics, including keyword research, on-page SEO, and content optimization techniques. The Content Specialist should be able to write SEO-friendly content to improve visibility and engagement.
• Attention to Detail - Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity of written content. The Content Specialist must proofread and edit content to eliminate errors, ensuring it is error-free, aligns with the company's standards and quality expectations.
• Brand Awareness - Understanding Gallagher’s brand voice and messaging. The Content Specialist must ensure that all content aligns with the GCoE branding guidelines and contributes positively to the brand’s image.
• Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and stakeholders, as well as for effectively conveying ideas and content.

Qualification and Experience -

• Minimum Required Degree: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in content writing.
• Experience in long form (White papers) & short form (linkedin) writing, Thought leadership articles, video/ podcasts scripts, research, and editing of content across various platforms, including websites, blogs, email campaigns, and social media.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Timely delivery of written content (blogs, articles, social media posts).
• SEO performance improvements (organic search rankings, keyword optimization).
• Audience engagement (click-through rates, shares, comments).
• Accuracy and clarity in all written content.
• Understanding of marketing analytics and reporting tools, e.g., Google Data Studio.
• Strong, competent writing and editing skills.
