Our client, a prestigious leader in the Higher Learning industry, is looking for a senior strategic candidate to head up the IT Applications Group as Director, Applications.

You will be responsible for providing vision and leadership to develop and drive a high performance, innovative and collaborative IT Applications Group.

What we envison about the role:

Be responsible for the planning, delivery and management of a comprehensive IT Applications strategy, architecture and solutions.
Work with Senior Management and key stakeholders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with architecture and operations.
Oversee application delivery and management, ensuring compliance to application security, data and quality management as well as adherence to cost, functionality and timeliness.
Routinely enagage with IT sponsors, process owners and end-users to understand and address business needs.
Identify, validate and leverage emerging technology trends and best practices where appropriate for the Group.
Build a culture of innovation and engagement among the teams within the IT Applications Group.

What we hope to find in you:

Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
~15-20 years within IT industry, consisting of 8-10 years in technical leadership positions with good track record in large scale applications development and support
Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, best practices and emerging trends
Proven ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and sense of purpose among the teams and create clear accountabilities and metrics.
Exceptional in engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels
Strong business processes and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex requirements/issues clearly and concisely
Strong leadership, project management, contract management and vendor management skills
