JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting accurate and timely laboratory tests to support medical diagnosis and patient care. The role ensures adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and laboratory procedures while contributing to efficient laboratory operations and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis 2. Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on biological samples 3. Analyze body fluids, tissues, and cells to detect abnormalities and microorganisms 4. Conduct biochemical tests including glucose, cholesterol, and related diagnostics 5. Carry out blood grouping, cross-matching, and transfusion-related procedures 6. Interpret test results and ensure accuracy before reporting
REQUIREMENTS 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) 2. Valid practicing license and membership (or eligibility) with AMLSN 3. Minimum of 2+ years post-qualification experience 4. Multi-department laboratory experience is an added advantage
