Job Purpose To ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of maize for grain-based distillery operations through effective vendor management, market coordination, and logistics support in Tanzania. Key Responsibilities • Procure maize from farmers, traders, cooperatives, and aggregators as per production requirements. • Develop and manage local supplier base; negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules. • Monitor maize market trends, seasonality, and availability. • Ensure maize meets defined quality parameters (moisture, foreign matter, etc.). • Coordinate sampling, inspection, and quality checks. • Plan and coordinate logistics and timely delivery to plant. • Maintain optimum inventory levels and minimize transit/storage losses. • Ensure compliance with local statutory, regulatory, and food safety norms. • Maintain procurement documentation, GRNs, invoices, and MIS reports. • Coordinate with production, stores, and finance teams. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field. • 5–10 years of experience in maize/grain procurement, preferably in distillery, ethanol, or food processing industry. • Experience in Tanzania grain markets preferred.
