Position: Accountant
Location: Dodoma, Tanzania
Nationality: Tanzanian Nationals Only
Salary: USD 600 – 800 per month (Based on qualifications and experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company's financial records,ensure compliance with Tanzanian financial regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting. Thesuccessful candidate will support daily accounting operations, maintain financial integrity, and contribute toeffective financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.Prepare and process payroll while ensuring compliance with statutory deductions.Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and other statutory returns in accordance withTanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations.Maintain the general ledger and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Monitor company expenses and ensure adherence to financial policies.Coordinate with external auditors during statutory and internal audits.Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and Tanzanian financial regulations.Prepare management reports and provide financial analysis to support business decisions.Perform any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.CPA (T) certification or CPA finalist is preferred. ACCA qualification is an added advantage.Strong knowledge of Tanzanian accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERPsystems.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.Experience in manufacturing, trading, FMCG, or industrial sectors will be an added advantage.
Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, taxation, and statutory compliance.
Required Skills
