Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Cinema and Gallery AV Technical Lead
We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cinema and Gallery AV Technical Lead to take ownership of the technical operations across Cinema and Gallery Space. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining all A/V and projection systems, overseeing contract projectionists, and ensuring the flawless execution of technology demos, film screenings, presentations, and events.
This is a hands-on, technically demanding role that also requires strong organization, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with cinema projection systems, live sound, and event A/V systems; and thrives in high-profile, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all technical infrastructure, systems, and workflows for Cinema and Gallery spaces.
Operate and oversee audio, lighting, and projection systems for demos, screenings, and events.
Manage and schedule a team of contract projectionists and audio engineers to support large-scale events.
Maintain and manage content across multiple projection systems and media servers.
Ensure proper signal routing and system integration, including digital and analog paths via physical patch bays and networked systems.
Set up and operate professional audio, lighting, and video equipment including audio consoles, wireless microphones, KVM systems, confidence monitors, lighting consoles, etc., for events in the Cinema
Work with outside A/V Production agencies when brought in for large-scale events in the Cinema.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for Cinema and Gallery events through the advance and execution phases, providing responsive, high-level support for internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external vendors.
Develop and maintain clear documentation for system workflows, troubleshooting procedures, and event setups.
Maintain a clean and organized projection booth, control rooms, and A/V storage spaces.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with cinema projection systems and high-end A/V technology.
Proficiency in signal flow for audio, video, and lighting systems; live sound mixing and event production workflows.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
Strong leadership and project management skills, including scheduling and oversight of contract staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and engage with executives, creative teams, and vendors.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a high attention to detail.
Competency in both Mac and PC operating systems; experience supporting PowerPoint and other presentation tools in a corporate setting.
5+ Years experience working in Cinema, Broadcast, or Corporate AV settings.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a related field of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with software tools such as Dante Controller, ProTools, and Audio Architect.
Familiarity with Crestron control systems and KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch systems.
Experience managing high volumes of content assets and digital asset organization.
High comfort level working with clients at all tiers of the corporate leadership spectrum.
